Gambia Appeal

Following a 2008 visit by staff and Sixth Form, Abbeyfield has “twinned” with a school of equivalent size in The Gambia. The Charles Jow Academy aspires to deliver a high-grade education at a low cost. The Gambia, however, is a very poor country and the school is desperately short of funding, an example of which is the absence of a hygienic facility where students can eat their lunch.

Abbeyfield School is committed to raising the £15000 which would allow them to build a canteen. If you would like to participate or contribute to our appeal in any way, please contact us at: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it However small, any help you can give will be greatly appreciated and every penny raised will be used constructively.
